Art is paintings, music... no, that's silly, isn't it? Giving examples of something to define it...

Art is an expression of something... about the human condition? About emotions? About humans? Why does a splatter painting done by Jackson Pollock sell for millions of dollars, but get a 'D' in art class? (Seriously, what's up with that?)

Was it what was put into the art, or what came out and what I perceived that made it art? Better yet, remove the 'the' from the first part of that last sentence.

Back again. What is art? That's a very good question, self. (Hey, maybe this is why nobody seems to give an answer nowadays!)

Maybe art is something we use to express ourselves. That definition seems to fit fine, but who gets to say what expressions are art? (And who defines what wet spot is a lake?) Is my anger art? No, I don't use anger to express myself! I use words, gestures...

Art is something we use to express ourselves. Be it music, painting, theatre, roleplay, gestures, motions, words, creations, writing... We use our bodies to express ourselves too.

That means... I am art. As are these words that tell you so.
